China and an Art Show

Eric and I in the taxi on the way to our hotel after a 14 hour flight.

A bicycle is the most common form of tranportation in China.
And it's pretty normal to see them loaded up like this.

And this is a perfectly normal scaffolding too. It's bamboo.

Rob Wise bent this rail over with a big gap to it. The crew fixing it.

Eric Holley feebles up the big ledge in practice.
Losey and I passed this statue everyday on the way to and
from the contest so I finally took a photo of it...

and it was raining on the way back to the hotel so we
made some rain gear and had some locals take photos of us.
We are fashion leaders after all.
Here's an over view of the street course.
And here is a small section of SMP. That place is amazing!
There is a video at VitalBMX from the contest and a story with some other photos at EXPN.com. Have a look. So I've been back from China for a few weeks. Those days were filled with moving into a new house and moving our office. I did find time to hit this Art show with my wifey the past weekend. It was called The Bain Project. This is what the show is about; "The Bain Project is a site-specific art installation exploring Raleigh’s historic E.B. Bain Waterworks. On view throughout Bain will be installations and performances of 12 artists who have worked collaboratively in the space for the past 9 months." Here as a few photos I took there. It was awesome.

From the outside it looked nothing more than an old building.

But the inside was huge and there was so much going on.

A shot of the pipes that rain water to Raleigh.

Artist would do there own thing in various rooms like this one covered in balls.

Or this one that had old tubs with tuffs of grass in them. Don't ask me...

Artsy fartsy shot.
It's pretty sweet that the local art community took on the project.
