Tea Time Tour Day 6NASS finals were today and it was crazy! |
Today was the NASS finals. The Goliath ramps started a little after 11am. It was windy and you could tell the riders were feeling it. Kelly Bolton qualified 3rd but had the mindset to either win or go out with a bang. His first jump was his inverted barrel roll that came up short and his second was a 720 that came around but you could tell the wind was messing with him and he didn't pull either. Since they take the best two jumps out of three Kelly knew that his last jump had to be something to blow everyone out of the water. He went for his new one called the Orbit. It's a crazy looking superman seatgrab flip that at the beginning he grabs his seat pushes the bike above him then ctaches up to it. It's nuts. He came real close on it. He's done it on a resi and you can expect him to land it real soon. Scott Hamlin had some big moves of his own like perfect flipwhips, frontflips and superman seat grabs. He did a few barhump jumps after time just for fun. Scott always has a blast. He got third and was happy not to get blown off the ramp from the wind.
Next was Street. Josh Perry threw down some heavy moves like a double tailwhip drop-in off the big wedgie-quarter, a truck to whip and some dialed 720s over the hips. He went for a couple 720 whips but just couldn't get enough speed to get comfortable with them. When Kelly dropped in for his run I think everyone knew something crazy was going to happen. He flaired the big wedge-quarter ramp higher than most people aired it. His big move was flipping the crazy hip to wedge landing transfer that he 360'ed the day before. It took three tries to get it done but he nailed it perfect. The contest was over and I was stoked on how well Josh, Kelly and Scott did with making the finals and more importantly having a great time on their bikes and showing the people how we do it at Eastern Bikes!
Next we jumped in the van and headed to our distributor, Split Second Imports. It's a great place and they have it dialed over there. We said our good byes and Big Dan drove us to our hotel to rest up for our last stop of the trip, which is...

Here I am enjoying my morning cup of tea. It is the Tea Time Tour after all.

Scott and a superman seatgrab to 3rd!

How crazy looking is this?! Kelly got real close to the Orbit. He's always coming up with some wild s*#t!.

After trying such a crazy trick and coming close you'd be smiling like this too.

In between Goliath and Park Kelly took a little nap.

The riders outside of Split Second Imports. They've been taking real good care of us. Thanks!
